There is no such thing as

Solo Travel

Fifty rules for fifty years. A memoir about going alone and discovering you never really were.

The premise

Solo travel gets sold as independence: just you, a bag, and a plan nobody else gets a vote on. But every trip is made of other people. The stranger who tells you which bus to take. The friend who watches your dog. The pilgrim who walks your pace for a day and then doesn't.

This book is fifty rules learned the hard way, one for each year, about how to go anywhere by yourself and let other people in while you do it.

A few of the rules

  • 1[Rule one goes here.]
  • 17[A rule about the Camino.]
  • 33[A rule about going home.]
  • 51Be a digital hoarder, and build somewhere to put it all.
